GREG STELSE
OWNER / MECHANIC / PAINTER
Greg has been working on cars since he was young, and through his adolescence into adulthood he has acquired and perfected many skills. From learning to paint on Ferraris to building performance engines, chassis, and transmissions Greg has become a master car builder through the years. He has used much of his experience in his racing career from circle track into drag racing to build motors and transmissions. And his painting expertise is used to make sure the million-dollar show-winning cars come out flawless. Greg is hands on when it comes to work being done in the shop. He is often seen wrenching on his drag car The Joker or teaching the guys in the shop new techniques to get the job done.
LEAH STELSE
OWNER / HR / CLOTHING STORE OWNER
As co-owner and mother of the shop, Leah not only manages but also takes care of everyone. To say she is the glue that holds it all together would be to say the least. Leah not only sells pinup and vintage clothing but also enjoys wearing it. She is often seen at car shows either walking with Greg or vending at the hauler wearing the most beautiful outfits that she puts together. One of Leah’s many passions is decorating, she spends a good amount of her time putting together retro scenes for photoshoots. Mother of three and grandmother to five, Leah is not only busy with car shows and the shop but also at home with her family.
CHARLIE WILSON
PARTS MANAGER / SCHEDULER / ESTIMATOR
If you are looking to get work done on your vehicle or just looking for parts, Charlie is the guy you are looking for. Not only does he manage the parts store, but he also types up estimates AND schedules work for the shop. To say he is a busy guy is an understatement. Charlie has experience in sales from being a pervious manager at a local parts store and from wrenching on vehicles most of his life. When you stop in you will often see Charlie behind the parts counter or in the shop making sure the job gets done.
NORM WALBRUCK
SHOP MANAGER / FABRICATOR
Norm and Greg have known each other for a long time and at one point they were even racing rivals. Norm was a manager at a fabrication facility for many years before joining the Greg’s Speed Shop team and hasn’t looked back since. He now can be seen custom fabricating floor pans, center consoles or whatever Greg dreams up. Whether that’s a staircase or drag racing frame, it just depends on the day!
ANNA ALSTEEN
TOUR GUIDE / ASSISTANT PARTS MANAGER
The ray of sunshine of the office. Anna has known Greg and Leah for many years before working for them at Greg’s Speed Shop. Anna’s supportive and caring demeanor is one of her best qualities. She can be seen giving tours to answering phone calls or giving customer’s their weekly updates while we are working on their vehicles. Anna likes long walks on the beach and anything to do with Hawaii.
REBECCA LIVERMORE
TOUR GUIDE / DETAILER / WEBSITE
Rebecca has been working for Greg and Leah for almost four years now and has learned many new skills. From learning to detail vehicles to being certified to do ceramic coatings and to editing websites. She can often be seen giving tours to customers to detailing customer’s vehicles and even at car show events vending with Greg and Leah. Outside of work, Rebecca can be found reading or going for walks at parks with her family.
CLAYTON ROGERS
MECHANIC / 3D PRINTER MAGICIAN
Clayton may seem young…. because he is, but don’t let that deter you! He graduated from Midstate Technical College for auto-mechanics. So not only is he educated on the inner workings of newer vehicles, but he has been working on classic cars his whole life helping his dad in their shop at home. Clayton was introduced to Greg and Leah at the Iola Car show a few years ago and soon found his place here. He also does all our 3D printing in the shop, from head light bezels to specialty parts. Clayton always travels with Greg and Leah to work on The Joker at the drag strip.
BILL PETERS
MASTER MECHANIC
Bill is a man of few words, but don’t let that fool you he sure knows a lot about cars. Bill and Greg have known each other since they were teens. At 19 years old, Bill worked at a custom motorcycle and car shop for 20 years before becoming a master tech for GM and Chrysler and then moved to working for Chrysler Corporation for a while. Later Bill and Greg re-kindled their friendship and Bill came to work for Greg at his shop. He can be seen rewiring whole vehicles to installing motors.
BRIAN PERSCHKE
MASTER BODY MAN / PAINTER/FABRICATOR
Brian may look like a grumpy dusty bear, but he is actually full of humor and energy. Though that may be due to the high amount of sugar he consumes per day. Brian has many years of experience doing not only body and paint but also mechanical work. Since joining the team, we have learned a lot about Brian. He is a whiz on roller skates. Loves singing karaoke. And has a least one toolbox drawer full of snacks and treats.
JUSTIN HOLUBETS
BODY MAN / FABRICATOR / WELDER
Justin went to Chippewa Valley Technical College for machining and has about 15 years of welding and fabricating experience before joining the Greg’s Speed Shop team. He can go from fabricating engine mount brackets to wet sanding and buffing. When not at work, Justin can be seen BMX racing. And no, he doesn’t hire a stunt man, he is the stunt man.
DR. DAVE SARNA
MASTER MECHANIC / ENGINE BUILDER
“Doctor Dave” Sarna received the pen name while writing technical articles for various automotive publications. Dave has spent a lifetime in the automotive world from line technician and shop owner to chassis and engines shops to insurance investigator and instructor. Sarna has a BS degree in Vocational Education and still teaches part time today. Dave spent 20 years as a fulltime automotive instructor at a technical institute instructing in both areas of automotive mechanical and automotive collision, being the only staff member ASE Master certified in those areas, including advanced engine level diagnostics along with part time General Motors instructor at Hinsdale, IL plus I-CAR instructor and writer. Sarna has mirrored his professional working career with various race teams from a part time crewman on an NHRA Top fueler to short time NASCAR jack man for legendary driver Harry Gant. Dave has done his share of driving from finishing 2 nd in the Great American Race to building and driving over 200 MPH hot rods on the Bonneville speedway to 9 second drag race cars. Dave Sarna has been a welcomed addition to the Greg’s Speed Shop team, as combined consultant, instructor, craftsman and friend.
